GOD and the City

Losing Control

With Church, Conference, and Concerts you begin to feel energized, excited, invincible even . Then comes Work, Exercise, Squeezing time with the Spouse you begin to try to control your environment or what happens daily. It’s difficult to juggle finances in the middle of it all. It is incredibly true what it says in;

Matthews 7:7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”

Currently, with the Grace of God my prayers are certainly being answered. Before, there was talk about money, I did pray upon our finances. And believed in;

Deuteronomy 15:6 “The LORD your God will bless you as he has promised. You will lend money to many nations but will never need to borrow. You will rule many nations, but they will not rule over you.”

Whether it’s new or old testament God’s word is true! ♥ ^_^

Now, at times I find myself setting a plan, going by a schedule, picking my battles, trying to control situations. In Church there was a segment about Saving, paying off your debts, Joyce Meyers this week spoke to me on finance and among other things. It’s incredibly amazing how if you seek you shall find!

Hold on…there is a point I am trying to make here…

The last couple of weeks has not only been interesting in the word and my prayer life, but my physical and financial life as well. There was this situation with a hurricane hitting our coastline. At first I was trying to take control, going over board on what I tossed into my shopping cart, because I wanted to be “prepared“. Of course you must do what you have to do especially in an emergency that is threatening to come to your City, there are measures to be had!

Although it missed us, Glory be to God! The most high! I was incredibly happy and satisfied that we did stay in faith. During my shopping, I fell into my senses and recalled a memory of what I had seen on the weather channel. Well…where we reside it was more than likely that we would just have a few thunder storms, rain, and not much powerful winds hitting us.

We did prepare with water, sandwiches, flashlights, prayer and faith. God is an Amazing God and if you are lucky enough to be called and you answer, life goes into an unbelievably blessed adventure. In reality we need to understand that there are forces that are more powerful than us and we need to let go and let GOD. God will not ever let you fall. So what ever hurricane maybe threatening your Coast-line whether spiritual or otherwise, I believe to not over prepare but be wise in your choices ask God to reveal what you need to see and make decisions with Prayer. God always provides an answer.

Matthew 7:24-29

24Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”

28When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed at his teaching, 29because he taught as one who had authority, and not as their teachers of the law.
