For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
Lord willing, See you all next year!
Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect. Matthew 5:48
The hubby took this at Redress Raleigh Fashion Expo that took place November 16th!
This past few weeks have been a handful, or should I say this last past month of November has been…Whoa.
Not only with the excitement of Doing a fashion show, but also with all that comes from having a start-up business, a little one and a family.
Redress Raleigh Fashion Expo 2013
Yes I was and am thankful that God provided a way for me to do and be apart of something amazing. Not only have I been blessed to partake in this endeavor but I have also been blessed to use my gifts and talents to honor God.
It was amazing for me, after receiving so many no’s. That people actually wanted to work with me and be apart of something that I am doing even if I talk a lot about Jesus and so much about GOD.
I was flabbergasted, that not only was I able to do a cool show that I was also able to hook up with Molly
from Still being Molly
and Dani with King BMX,
To praise GOD with Hillsong, like right after the event on November 18th!
It. Was. AWESOME Hillsong in Greensboroh November 18th
I was over joyed and knew this was all GOD!!!! I have no idea what GOD has in store for me, for those around me and my household. Praise God, thank you Jesus!!
It was a full house ya!
It wasn’t until 2:30 in the morning feeling over whelmed with business, home life and thinking of my precious gift from God (my currently 3month baby boy) that I received revelation and God gave me peace.
After throwing myself in His precious alter of grace, clutching my bible and sincerely begging Jesus to help me the same words that I had given my anxious friend, God had given to me.
When Jesus speaks of being perfect, He doesn’t mean by our own works. When we accept Jesus into our hearts, God doesn’t see our sin, He sees His son JESUS, perfect and blameless. We have Christ within us. We become a new creation!
It dawn to me, what exactly is picking up the cross? And what did Jesus mean with “willing to lose his life”
Another verse that God had graciously given to me was “we will reap a harvest if we faint not.”
Those words I have been repeating to myself daily because to be honest it has been hard.
Not only was I overwhelmed with my first fashion show, which God had given me His amazing Grace to do and complete, Not only was I able to go to see Hillsong live (which is so awesome and incredible) with amazing Ladies in Christ. I also was hit with having to do a re-shoot because one of the photographers equipment had sadly been stolen. After thinking I can rest a bit. O_O
It was a blessing in disguise to meet these beautiful ladies of Roguemark photography
Which I met them in downtown Raleigh at a cool Coffee spot.
There were so many creative individuals in this one place it was redonkulous. Serious. I saw the director of CAM among others. Crazy, crazy creative.
I had a mini conversation with God.
I asked Him. “Lord, I have heard it said that you can either work in the flesh or in the spirit, I’m tired and overwhelm, does this mean that I’m working in the flesh?”
Then God had given to me this verse “you shall reap if you faint not” and with it it’s revelation.
This verse wasn’t put together for those who are rested. It was put together for those specifically who are tired as a reminder that if they do not give in they shall reap a reward.
It was almost as if God was saying to me it’s not going to be easy and you are going to have moments that you want to give up that’s why it is written the way it is because any one doing work will feel like giving up and it’s just a reminder not to.
Then I was rejuvenated by His love and how He just brings everything into perspective or should I say a different perspective.
Sometimes we can get to caught up in being in the situation and the pain. Losing sight of the truth and why we’re doing what we’re doing.
It’s all for His Glory, and yes you are going to feel days that you want to give up that you think you can’t go on. But remember you will reap a reward if you faint not.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. 2 Corinthians 5:17
God is so amazing and I just want to say that He surely makes old things New! These fabrics are a representation on how God can transform us and create something new within us. He takes what we once were. With our problems, mindset and troubles, renewing us in a way that we can only describe as the grace of GOD. I’ve never been more alive than now and I’m thankful.
A prayer that I say when going through difficult times or when I’ve made a mistake is “Lord, some how make my wrongs right.” Basically, I don’t want the mistake to be in vain, I want God to take those mistakes, those “ashes” and make something new from them. So I let go and I give it to Jesus.
These fabrics are from my fall collection. I’ve been working on this collection for a while now. I’ve learned so much through the making and piecing and how GOD knows the final result.
Sometimes we can’t see past our circumstances. Past our mistakes. I’ve noticed when creating this collection, through my mistakes, if I remained calm, not giving in to the temptation of worrying about the mistake I made and the effect it has done. Just letting go and allow GOD to guide me. I usually am guided into making something a lot more beautiful and creative than I originally had planned!
I choose this picture as the 5th fabric because it’s the finish result of my collection all mixed together. We may not see how God is transforming us. Sometimes we can’t see the Good in certain situations that are hurtful, stressful and can really shake our faith.
During some of these times we even make mistakes and wonder, “have a fallen out of God’s will?”
The truth is you can not ever fall out of God’s will. It says in the bible,
When we dedicate our life to Jesus, when we give our hearts to Christ right then and there the heavens are rejoicing and your name was transformed to the book of life. Many times we make mistakes, even during our walk with GOD. These are often called “sin” meaning “missing the mark” but one thing we can stand firm on, is that “sin” no longer has a hold of us. We are free from it. Condemnation does not come form GOD. Conviction does. Conviction is an acknowledgement that you have done something wrong and it is needed for us to see the truth.
Condemnation is actually remaining in that sin. Not allowing God’s grace to work and transform you.
We all have burdens to bear in this life. The bible refers to it as a yoke. A yoke was actually used back in the day when they would use an animal to plow the ground. To make way for the seeds to grow the harvest. This plowing was a heavy load, a burden, on the necks of these animals.
Jesus has taken your yoke.
And He’s given you His in exchange for yours.
Rest in the thought that GOD loves you and you don’t surprise Him. He didn’t wash away your past sins, He washed it all away. You are RIGHT with GOD. Don’t ever forget. ♥
P.S. If you are in Durham, NC or Wake County of North Carolina stop by Saturday’s Market & Fashion Expo, you know so you can see my designs oh and also the other designers there too. 😀 Stop by and say hi!
Although I am less than the least of all the Lord’s people, this grace was given me: to preach to the Gentiles the boundless riches of Christ, Ephesians 3:8
I’m a person of color, meaning I love color! Many say “its your personality”, but I never really viewed myself to have a so called “colorful” personality. If I make any sense, I’m still getting to know me, especially with expecting, running my own business, and going to be a mom soon, I have no idea what to expect nor do I even know what type of person I will become.
You see, when it comes to buying clothing I tend to migrate towards white. I love the clear crisp look of how white just allows any color to speak. For me it’s a beautiful color. But this is not a post about white. It’s a Post about Color and why I LOVE color so much.
When it comes to creating, I can’t help but be drawn to bright, bold beautiful fabrics and to be honest my paintings are incredibly colorful. But, I’m talking about bags. Even if it’s only a two tone fabric I just love it when you can see a story. Just as every note has a sound every color has a story. When there’s a mixture of color, pattern and texture you can see a symphony playing. There’s history there’s direction.
I marvel at God’s majesty and His color choices and the colors He allows us to use and see. Check out this Post on the Rainbow Shrimp.
Before I gave my life to Christ B.C. (Before Christ), I was in a fog, things weren’t crisp as they are now, days seem bleak and dull. Even looking back at memories of then to memories of A.C. (After Christ) my days are now full of beauty!! Now It now seems as though a vail has been lifted and I can truly see clearly. It’s incredible.
I can’t help but be extremely thankful that I can see, that I can walk and that I have the life that I have. Thank you so much Jesus! Thank you so much. This doesn’t mean that I don’t have trials or difficult moments, I do. But the life that I used to live the pain that I used to feel is nothing compared to my bad days being with Christ. My bad days without Jesus were a nightmare. Sadly. Nothing. Seriously, like nothing. Nada. Zip, Zero nada, is like having Christ in your life. It’s wonderful. It truly is.
I know that many of you may be going through some hard times, some even challenging times. I want to remind you of what Jesus says,
I don’t know what you’re going through or what you may be worried about. But I will say, change your thinking. One way to do this is giving your life to Christ. If you have already done this, then you need to tap into the gifts that Jesus has given you. Jesus shows you what it is to live fully. To live beauty fully. You’re equipped and well able, you just need to tap into the Power that’s been freely given to you!
I know what it is to go through mental distress…and I know that most of your suffering is self inflicted. I know it may sound harsh, but we create our own happiness or misery. You actually choose the life you live. Self discipline, patience, faith, love, freedom these are all gifts you can receive from the Holy Spirit. Read the Word, read your bible everyday there’s power in every word.
The reason why I chose these Amazing fabrics is as a reminder of the gifts you have and to not take things for granted. There are so many of us out there wishing they can see, wishing they had a roof over their head and food on their plate a warm clean place to sleep.
GOD will supply all your needs. All your wants? Well that’s a different story.
How can God bless you and grace you with things you may want if you can’t even appreciate, value and be grateful for the needs He meets on a constant basis for you? You can’t see the blessings you currently have?
Happiness does not come from a relationship with a person, a bank account full of money, material possessions or being able to do what ever you want. It comes from within you.
I remember back in the day when I had my own apartment, a steady income and was able to do whatever I would like, I was not satisfied. I had this huge whole inside of me. I was not happy. I thought to myself “I need to appreciate this time, because I will look back and think that I should of appreciated this time, but why do I feel so depressed?”
Many people are desperately searching for happiness and are living a life that is so quick, and their life runs out so fast because they are only going after their next fix of a slice of “feeling good” or what they think will bring them happiness. I believe if they would just stop and truly think about where they’re at and what they are missing I’m sure they would fine that the only one that can fill that hole is the Creator Himself. It’s Jesus. And that my friends is the truth ♥
Did you know when you accept Jesus into you’re heart that’s where the Kingdom of Heaven is? Where it begins? Jesus is knocking on your heart, will you let Him in? Haven’t you tried everything else?
Video of the day: I can only Imagine
But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. James 1:4
As I was constructing this baby bag for moi, I couldn’t help but also reflect on every bag I’ve made since this point. Each bag has it’s own personality and that’s another reason why their own story is attached to it. Because with each bag, miracles happen. With each bag I go through trials and tribulations. With each bag I have to face my fears and doubts.
With this bag in particular I came to a point that I’ve come to with many of my creations. Why am I doing this? This is so hard! It Hurts! Seriously I get stabbed by needles at least 20 times each session more or less. I bleed with each bag. Yes those pins are no joke!
I suffer with each bag and I have to work tremendously hard with each bag.
But you know what keeps me going? Do you know what fuels me? Jesus, knowing if I get through, what ever challenge I’m facing, whether it’s the piecing or the zipper or even the fit, I know, by the grace of God, it will look AMAZING! It will Glorify HIM.
I have faith.
And I guess that’s why it may say in scripture to be patient, to rejoice during trials and tribulations because the truth is, your Blessing is just around the corner. Don’t give up!
Because once those thoughts come to my mind of doubt and questioning my love for this, that’s when I’m almost done, that’s when much of the hard work is done but It has to come together and that coming together is what hurts the most.
It’s only fitting that these thoughts came to me with this bag, because this is my Diaper bag, my Hospital bag and my travel bag it’s an awesome size! I say that it’s fitting because the greatest pain that I will face in being pregnant is right before I receive my miracle. Right before the world is blessed with my baby boy!
At the end when everything is done and I push myself…the joy of what I see, all done and finished, is unsurpassed.
I’d just like to say. Yes life is going to throw you some curve balls. You’re going to ask in the midst of your troubles “Lord where is the Good in this? I can’t see it” ( I asked that question my self after trying several times to get the right fit of the zipper! Sorry I just had to vent 😀 ) But the truth is your blessing is just around the corner Your, recovery is at hand.
